The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of the University of South Bohemia (FHSS USB) has a unique position in the Czech Republic, particularly due to its interconnection of health care and social topics. Our aim is for graduates to understand and apply a holistic approach an approach that looks at a person as a whole and thus ensures that both the body and the soul receive support. The harmonious combination of these perspectives offers opportunities to train professionals who can perform their profession as a mission. The Faculty is an educational institution that is distinctively focused on the health and social care field. It carries out creative activities in the sphere of application, in the frame of specific projects, and direct clinical and field work with people who are disadvantaged both health-wise and socially. It develops scientific and research activities and international cooperation with important institutions and professional centres.

This is due to the opportunities which the faculty’s courses provide for employment, its favourable location and its cross-border collaboration with educational institutions in the neighbouring countries, a very good network of international partner organizations and cooperation within humanitarian and development aid, its right to appoint both associate professors and professors, and its use of modern means of education techniques. The Faculty prepares professionals who are in high demand. You will always find its students and graduates in situations where adverse health and social problems need to be dealt with.
